biography

Kimberly Goss (born 1978) is an American former singer, best known as the frontwoman and co-founder of the Finnish heavy metal band Sinergy (1997–2004). Goss was born in Los Angeles, California to a Korean father and German mother, the latter of whom worked as a jazz singer. Shortly after, she and her mother went to live in Japan before returning to the United States and settling down in Chicago, Illinois, where Goss was raised for most of her childhood. Goss eventually relocated to Scandinavia, having lived in Norway, Sweden, and Finland at various times. In 2002 in a private ceremony in Finland, Goss wed Alexi Laiho, however in 2004 the couple separated, yet remained close friends. She and Laiho shared identical tattoos around their ring fingers, that of a coiled snake. They also had each other's initials tattooed on the upper part of their left arms. The success of Sinergy, for which she is a founding member, in Japan resulted in Goss receiving an offer to write a monthly column for over three years in Burrn! magazine, the country's most popular music publication.
